Abstract:

Objective: The recent study aimed to investigate the effects of chronic aerobic activity on the plasma levels of orexin A, leptin, glucose, insulin, and insulin resistance in males with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods: Twenty subjects randomly assigned into control and experimental groups, involving 10 people in each group. Exercise protocol consisted of eight session aerobic exercise. Each session was done between 15 to 30 minutes so that in earlier weeks started with 50% of maximum heart rate for 15 minutes per day and continued with 80% of maximum heart rate for 30 minutes per day in last week. The heart rate was measured using heart rate monitor. Before the start of training and 48 hours after the last training session, blood samples were taken from both groups. Results: the mean age of participants was 45.40 ± 5.42 year, mean weight was 80.91 ± 6.35 kg, the mean of body mass index was 25.41 ± 2.76 kg/m2.The analysis of findings in the P≤0.05 indicated that chronic aerobic exercise caused a significant increase in plasma leves of orexin A and significant decrease in insulin and insulin resistance, and leptin. Conclusion: Chronic aerobic exercise can decrease the insulin resistance in people with type 2 diabetes via increasing the plasma levels of orexin A and decreasing in plasma level of glucose and insulin.

acute aerobic exercise and plasma levels of orexin a, insulin, glucose, and insulin resistance in males with type 2 diabetes

conclusions it seems that in people with type 2 diabetes, acute aerobic exercise can decrease the plasma levels of glucose, possibly through increasing orexin a. in addition, negative energy balance is necessary to decrease the levels of insulin and insulin resistance during acute aerobic exercise. results the analysis of findings in p ≤ 0.05 indicated that acute aerobic exercise caused a signi...

Effects of 12 weeks of combined aerobic-resistance exercise training on levels of chemerin, omentin and insulin resistance in men with type 2 diabetes

Introduction: Regular exercise training has been shown to be a useful option to treat and prevent type 2 diabetes. Correspondingly, the purpose of this study was to investigate effects of 12 weeks of combined aerobic-resistance exercise training on levels of chemerin, omentin and insulin resistance in men with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial research, 20 male pati...

Effect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Aquatic and Land Exercise Training on Leptin, Resistin, and Insulin Resistance in Obese Women

Background: Regular exercise has been shown to improve diabetes-related biological markers. However, for some groups, exercises that require weight bearing are difficult. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to compare the effect of eight weeks of aerobic aquatic and land exercise training on leptin, resistin, and insulin resistance in obese women. Materials and Methods: In the p...

Effect of Eight Weeks of Aerobic Exercise with Ginger Supplementation on FGF21, Irisin and Insulin Resistance in Women with Type 2 Diabetes

Background: Diabetes type 2 is a metabolic disorder that it caused by insulin resistance. The aim of this research was to study the effect of eight weeks of aerobic exercise with ginger supplement on FGF21, Irisin and insulin resistance in women with type 2 diabetes. Methods: In a quasi-experimental study with pretest posttest design, 24 women with type 2 diabetes were selected available and p...

Effects of a single session of concurrent exercise on leptin levels and insulin resistance index in sedentary males

ABSTRACT Physical activity is known to influence and regulate leptin hormone secretion, which assists in the regulation of body weight and energy homeostasis. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of a single session of concurrent exercise on leptin levels and insulin resistance, until 24 h post-exercise. Ten male subjects (22.9±1.7 years) healthy volunteer perf...
